requestFullScreen() doesn't work

I would like to use the requestFullScreen() function to make the player go to full screen, however, no matter what I do or where I put the command in my code, the video never goes to full screen. I even tried to simulate button clicks on the full screen button div, but their doesn't work either. It doesn't cause an error either, it just seems to be ignored or something.

However, when I click the fullscreen button on the actual player it works. I am using the Chrome browser, if that makes a difference. Is there something special that I need to do to make this work?

Thanks for any help.

    Hi bsgrant

    For security reasons, requestFullScreen() will be ignored if not triggered by a direct user interaction (key or mouse/touch).

    Is there any way to disable that feature?
